PERFECT HAPPINESS IS DOING NOTHING Heaven does nothing, and so maintains its serentiy. Earth does nothing, so has its peace. By the union these two non-active forces, everything is produced. How vast and imperceptible is this process! Things seem to come from nowhere! Now imperceptible and vast! We can’t begin to see it! All things in all their variety grow from this inaction. Hence the saying, “Heaven and Earth do nothing, and yet the is nothing that remains undone.” But can we find anyone who trusts the universe enough to live according to ”doing nothing”? Wander freely in the infinite, but leave no trace behind. Fulfill the potential Heaven has given you, but act as if you received nothing. Just be empty. The Real Person of the Tao uses their mind like a mirror. It grasps nothing and anticipates nothing. It reflccts what is before it, but doesn’t retain it. Thus the Real Person deals successfully with all things, without effort. -- Chuang Tzu
